Dear (Russian Translator Person Who Must Remain Anonymous For Obvious Reasons),

I start each month by paying my major bills, those being, in descending order of size, Florida Power and Light, the monopoly electricity supplier around here; Charlotte County Utilities, which enables me to flush, scrub and brush; and, of course, Centurylink, which provides all wireless Internet, etc. FPL was about $150, which I paid in full. Even with an electronic payment, FPL warns that processing can take 3-5 working days, for some fucking reason! Unfortunately, after taking care of a couple of other obligations (my grower Dave, etc.) I did a rather large food shopping trip, which lowered my checking balance, and the FPL payment bounced! So FPL charged me another $30 for the bounced check! (No charge if you’re a little late.) I complained that I couldn’t make the payment, so they reduced it for July to $107, which means the overdue balance and bounce charges were deferred until this month. I ended up with a whopping August balance of around $180, which I paid and carefully, duly noted, went through before I bought some meager rations.

Did nothing to celebrate Herr Drumpf’s fraudulent Freedom 250 Celebration. Was feeling pretty sick, exhaustion, vertigo, etc. Starting Monday July 6, out of sheer boredom, restless, unfocused creativity and a sense of perverse curiosity, I began writing an utterly innocuous blog post asking the question why people are willing to die for intangibles, such as religions, but they won’t bestir their asses to deal with real problems right in front of them? This post is still at the top of my news/blog page (not anymore, of course, but close), read it here if you like, but I will not be held responsible for your reactions! By the time I got to the end, I was in a frothing rage at the current POTUS regime, and wanting to follow in both my parent’s footsteps by KILLING FASCISTS! Any Fascists, all Fascists, and there are a couple in my neighborhood whom I tried to befriend, fool that I was, and utterly failed. I was in such a rage that I called up Dave, who tried to calm me down and make me see some reason, only to give up and suggest that I call a crisis hotline. So, fool that I am, I did, and after the first counselor couldn’t deal with me, I was handed off to a manager, who asked my address, of course. I wouldn’t tell her, at first, but eventually, after I begged her NOT TO CALL LAW ENFORCEMENT because I really wasn’t a threat to myself or anybody else except FASCISTS, who paradoxically cannot be afforded any voice in a democracy such as ours, as the current administration demonstrates to our national horror every day! So I assume the manager handed a note to somebody else, and THEY called Johnny Law, because I was on the phone to my brother, the psych nurse in Pennsylvania, when there was a very forceful knock on my front door (yes, we know what they sound like in the USA too!). Opened it to find two Charlotte County Sheriff’s Deputies, a man and a woman, both in bullet-proof vests, armed with holstered 9mm Glocks, Mace, stun guns and night sticks, who wanted to know why I was threatening other people in the neighborhood, and what did I think I was doing threatening Fascists anyway? “So you’re threatening people for holding a different opinion,” the male cop asked, and my explanation that Fascism wasn’t an opinion but a political CANCER that actually DESTROYS ANY ALTERNATIVE OPINIONS didn’t make it with them. I eventually shut the door in their faces, and was rewarded 5 minutes later BY AN EVEN LOUDER KNOCK, and the deputies politely asking me to come with them. When I didn’t agree, they strong-armed me into a squad car while I shouted to my brother on speakerphone that I was being arrested. “No you’re not,” the woman deputy said, “We’re not charging you, we’re just taking you in for a few days observation under the Baker Act.” I am not making any of this up!

For reference, see here. Local authorities can hold you for up to 72 hours, beginning when you are first interviewed by a psychiatrist, not when you go into a locked psych ward, which I did around 9 p.m. Monday! So my 72 hours actually started the next day around 10 a.m., when I got 5 minutes with a Telehealth counselor. By that time I was totally spent, exhausted, all my rage burned out of me. I will not bore you with the details of my stay in the psych ward, except to say that spending a lot of time around certifiably crazy people will drive you nuts, if you aren’t already! (I had one experience like that when my 2nd marriage went to hell in 1999.) By Friday I’d convinced everyone who mattered that I was no longer a threat to myself, anyone else, or the property of the citizens of Charlotte County, so they released me. My friend from my old days at the newspaper here, James Abraham, lives nearby now, and he took care of Epic while I was incarcerated. Dave, who lives not far the MH facility, brought me home. It’s amazing how you realize you take things for granted once you are deprived of them, and Epic was overjoyed to see me, of course!

However, my troubles were not over! While James was taking care of Epic, making sure she was let out back to do her business as well as fed and watered, he was approached by a Charlotte County Animal Control Officer, who wanted to know if Epic was being properly cared for in my absence! James assured her that that was just what he was doing, and no, he didn’t know anything about any animal abuse, as far as he could tell Epic was well-cared-for and that the officer could talk to me personally when I was released from the MH facility. The day after, the AC officer showed up with a Sheriff’s deputy who resembled a Black, American football linebacker, but armed, to tell me I was going to be required by the county to TAKE EPIC TO MY LOCAL VETERINARIAN for an EXAMINATION — but exactly what kind of examination she wouldn’t say! Since I’m not a total idiot, I realized that what AC was trying to do was make me prove my innocence on allegations of bestiality, although nobody ever explicitly used that word! I told her truly that we had an appointment scheduled for early September for her vaccinations, but the officer wasn’t satisfied and said I had to make an appointment RIGHT AWAY! I explained that I am a man of extremely limited means and that I couldn’t afford the exam. She said the county might pay for it, and I knew that was utter bullshit because cops will tell you anything, even lie of your face, to get you to do what they want! And if I gave in to this once, they would never quit asking me to PROVE MY INNOCENCE, when it is Constitutionally up to law enforcement to PROVE MY GUILT! In America, one is presumed innocent until one is proven guilty by a jury of your peers. You Russians might want to try it, some time! So l brought Epic out, so they could see she wasn’t ill or abused, and told them about the appointment I had with the vet for September, and I OFFERED TO SEND THEM COPIES OF MY INTERVIEW WITH THE MAIN PSYCHIATRIST AT THE MH CENTER (Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, or CBHC, in the local parlance, a county facility I’ve used before, but never been locked up in). Now, I had discussed my zoophilic sexuality with the main counselor who interviewed me in person for about 45 minutes, but all I spoke about was my experiences with Dolly, because, after all, I wrote a book about it, right? So there’s no denying it, nor do I want to. I’m actually proud of being selected by a dolphin as a potential mate! Let people try to wrap their heads around that! I mean, I don’t boast of it like a conquest or something, although Dolly might have done that with me! It’s a remarkable fact of my life, and I won’t deny it. But I have never, ever, spoken to any counselor about my current, or former, relationships with any other creatures! So I knew this had to be sheer speculation, and I offered to give the officer a copy of my psychiatric interview, where I mentioned the dolphin as an incident in my past. It proved difficult, however, as I had to get a release from CBHC! And from the veterinarian as well. It took me several tries to send the AOC officer the right information, but I finally managed to get everything in hand and send her the psychiatric evaluation from CBHC AND my vet’s latest update on Epic, which was only 6 weeks old. Since then, the results have been… crickets! Thankfully! Obviously, my dog is not abused! Whatever I might have done to her, she enjoyed it! But I will have to pay the veterinarian about $150 next month to get her current on her shots, and a new county license. Money leaks out of my every pore.

Ha! So you think you’re having a bad day? You ain’t seen nothing, human!

Real problems with my bowels, feels like I swallowed a 2-kilo cannonball, sometimes terrible constipation. TMI? Sorry! It really affects my mood. My internist has me scheduled for a colonoscopy on August 19. Wish me luck! Two podcasts have contacted me to have me on. One, Social Venture Podcast, has a moderate moderator but two co-hosts who are somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun. They are fighting a war against a phony image of Islam they have been fed, that all Muslims are wife-beaters and want to impose Sharia law on the rest of the world. So fuck that, I don’t need the hassle!

The other podcaster, Lucid Rob, above, looks weird but is much more normal in comparison, and seems to have a genuine interest in me as a guest who can talk about several more-or-less occult subjects like Wicca, traditional Navajo beliefs, and wet-based analog photography, the way we did it with film, back in the day. Check Lucid Rob’s podcast out, the SVP guys aren’t worth shit. And on the last day of the month I got an inquiry from an intellectual rights company asking if owned the rights to Wet Goddess! After checking them out I replied that I did, but that I wasn’t represented by any agent or literary agency. Then I asked why she asked, and she said they had gotten a rights inquiry about WG from one of their clients, a producer, director or studio! She wouldn’t say which! So I’ve been waiting to the studio to reach out and touch me… so far… crickets.

So perhaps you can see why I am, at this point, a little fatigued. I did, however, put the John C. Lilly interview in a Dropbox you can access, and I think you should have gotten a text about it two weeks ago. Unfortunately I for some reason saved it as a .wav file, not a .mp3, so it is rather large and awkward, but should play on your Victrola!

So now I am waiting to hear back from HBO+’s popular new series, It’s Florida, Man, about their upcoming show featuring me as a guru on human-dolphin telepathy, since I seem to be the only one acknowledging it! And we’ll have to see what the editors do with that. Now, I have a Telehealth conference with my mental health counselor at 2 p.m., and I’m trying to eat a pizza for brunch. I don’t know what else I can tell you, Anton, my life is just… FUCKING WEIRD! Hope you are doing better than I am!

Your comrade in arms, Malcolm

Two Bullies, 1,000 Cameras and the Brave Little Kid!

Photo: Saul Loeb, AFP. Body Language: Ukrainian!

Donald Dumpster Fire,

Wow, what a surprise I had today! I heard that you and Shady — you know, your Veep? — were meeting Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, and of course I wanted to see your warm, charming, thoughtful, humanitarian diplomacy giving encouragement, money, resources and most importantly of all, powerful, precision, long-range American weapons, to the brave ex-televison personality (just like you, only not fat!) now called upon to lead his people in a totally defensive war against a large, bloodthirsty, ruthless and better-armed opponent who, TIME AND AGAIN, has oppressed, starved and murdered his people!

Photo: Associated Press — HEY! Who the hell let THEM in?

I think my TV must have picked up an old episode of “Little Rascals” or “Leave it to Beaver,” because suddenly everything became B&W and what I was watching, changed! Now the show was of two nasty playground bullies, a fat, misshapen, ugly 6th grader named Donald and his accomplice, a 5th grader with 5 o’clock shadow named… hey, what does the J stand for in your Veep’s first name? I can’t be bothered to remember — JD, and they were harassing a tough little 4 grader named Vlodny, dressed all in black, for his lunch money!

“YOU DON’T HOLD ANY CARDS,” the lard-bucket Donnie thundered, trying but failing to sound bad-ass.
“We’re not playing cards,” Vlodny said.
“YOU HAVEN’T TOLD US HOW THANKFUL YOU ARE FOR TO US FOR NOT BEATING YOU UP!” JD whined, sounding like a weasel caught in a leg trap.
“YEAH, AND YOU OWE US 350 BILLION, JILLION, TRILLION DOLLARS,” that lying little bastard Donald said, spitting saliva all over Vlodny’s black clothes.

In conclusion: Since your repeated so many of Putin’s talking points on Ukraine, I conclude that you and your whole administration are RUSSIAN OPERATIVES, doing what the Soviet Union couldn’t do with force: YOU ARE DESTROYING AMERICA FROM WITHIN!

Ye Gods, Putin must have some hella-good COMPROMAT ON YOU! I’m telling my reps in Congress to seek a 25 Amendment solution to you, and if that doesn’t work, I hope some civic-minded citizen will sacrifice him or herself to perform a 2nd Amendment solution. Not me, I’m 73, suffer 3 debilitating diseases, and don’t travel. But you do, and I hope Air Force One crashes in the ocean with you aboard. Shame to kill those great pilots, stewards and staff, but remembering Timothy McVay, they would be merely “COLLATERAL DAMAGE.”

You & JD have embarrassed me, the American government, and all our former friends and allies abroad. Although I’m an atheist, I think we should open room in Hell just for you. It could be a new theme ride at Disneyland!

The Sex Therapist Show!

DOLPHIN-SEX

https://drsusanblock.com/dolphin-sex

About six weeks ago I was contacted by someone with the unlikely name of SunShine McWane, an associate producer for the Dr. Susan Block Show, to ask if I wanted to do a live interview. The podcast has been on the air since 1996 (!), and Dr. Suzy, as she is known, has quite a few listeners in the Los Angeles area.

Of course, ever hopeful to evangelize a greater audience (which, I hasten to add, is hardly a scientific way to do my work, but an effective one given I don’t have the numbers) I said yes.

Thus began the odyssey of SunShine (no, I never did ask why) McWane, who was determined to get a marine biologist on the show to discuss dolphin sex. I warned her.

“The producers of ‘Dolphin Lover’ tried, without success,” I recalled. “They couldn’t get the one they wanted, so my dialogue about that ended up on the cutting room floor.”

SunShine assured me that she was hopeful. Two weeks later, she didn’t sound so positive.

“They’re all so hoity-toity,” she complained. “I never imagined it would be this hard to find someone to go on a podcast and discuss the normal way dolphins have sex!”

I told her that, for what it was worth, with bottlenose dolphins there didn’t seem to be a normal way of having sex. It was made up all the time, with whatever props, objects or beings were available. That made her pause for thought.

“Well, we’ve got to prepare a PowerPoint presentation,” she finally sighed, and we left it at that, although where she was going to find a lot of illustrations was an unresolved problem.

Two days later, SunShine was back on the phone. “Can you do the show tonight? We had a cancellation.”

So I did. Who could turn the poor thing down? But of course there was no time to prepare the PowerPoint, so it would just be 90 minutes… of me. And due to the time difference between here and the West Coast, I would be on at 1:30 on a Sunday morning.

So be it. No sacrifice is too great to benefit the cause of Cetacean Liberation!

When I finally got on the air with Dr. Suzy, I found a rather nice, considerate person who tried to balance her concern for animals who might be the victims of sexual abuse with a realization that my story was quite real and told us a lot, not only about dolphins but about humans. She didn’t try to squelch me, like Bubba the Love Sponge, or make fun of my zoophilia, like Howard Stern. For that I was thankful.

And, as the above recording shows, she actually knows a lot about the situation with dolphins… although she prefers bonobos, those cute little apes who have been known after spats to make up by having sex.

You be the judge.

Y ahora, la versión en español!

Quite some time ago I was contacted by a reporter named Benjamin E. Rosado, who said he was with El Mundo newspaper, Spain. (I mistakenly thought that meant he was writing for El Mundo, but as you shall see, I was wrong. No matter.)

He’d seen an old article about me on the UK site Unilad, which describes itself as “a major youth platform for breaking news and relatable viral content.” What I’m doing there, I’m not sure; I’ve been careful in my dialogues with individuals to make sure they are all 18+. But there’s no accounting for the tastes of editors, except to publishers. And I’m not rich enough to be one of those.

Back to Mr. Rosado. After some fumbling we managed to agree on a date for a Skype interview. His English was pretty good, better than my Spanish at least, and the interview lasted 1.5 hours, which is unusual. He was on a tight deadline so he wrote the story at once and sent it in to the newspaper Cronica, which it turns out is in Argentina! It ran in the Sunday edition as a feature, which figures, since it was what – 10 years old?

And it was a pretty good article despite a couple of errors, like one caused by a comment about time that made Rosado think I was living in Indiana (?). He also had me driving from Washington State to Mississippi to try to rescue Dolly, rather than from Philadelphia, where the car was — but never mind. I have fixed the errors in translation. Despite a certain Latin tendency to melodrama, Mr. Rosado’s article was mostly accurate and, thankfully, non-judgmental. He is to be commended for doing a good job. Muchas graçias, Señor Rosado!

My romance with a dolphin, of which I have written a book.

At first I rejected her, but I ended up falling in love.

The facts are not recent, they happened at the end of 1971, but they have taken on an unexpected meaning under the cover of the new animalistic creed. Let’s start at the end: Malcolm J. Brenner had sex with a dolphin. Then he was 20 years old and the world was not prepared to understand what was going through his mind every time he appeared Dolly, a flirtatious and seductive cetacean from Floridaland. In that natural reserve, now extinct, which occupied several hectares of Sarasota County, tourists could feel the warm embrace of nature. Let’s say, to synthesize, that Brenner was no exception.

It took him more than three decades to gather enough courage to tell his story in a book, Wet Goddess (Diosa Mosada), that in the absence of publishers who were not scandalized with the recreation of underwater scenes he self-published in 2010. Five years later, his romance with Dolly appeared in a short documentary, Dolphin Lover, which caused a sensation at the Slamdance alternative film festival. No one could believe what Brenner confirms to us on the phone from his home in Florida: “We do not practice sex, but in each encounter in the water we made love.” What follows is a confidence, as delusional as tenderly true, of a man marked by an unconventional love affair.

You have to go back to the summer of 1970 to date the crush. At that time, Brenner was a student at New College and accepted the proposal of a writer who prepared a book about Floridaland dolphins. “She asked me to take the pictures to illustrate the volume,” he recalls. “I dreamed of becoming a journalist and I didn’t hesitate for a second.” They rented a boat and toured the reserve until they reached the dolphinarium dock. “I’ve never been so close to a dolphin and I experienced an indescribable feeling.” What Brenner did not imagine is that the Dolly Pizpireta, who celebrated his entry into the water by shaking the fins, would eventually become his lover. “I started rubbing her back and belly, and she seemed to enjoy my touch.”

The courtship lasted several weeks. In the morning Dolly worked as an acrobat in the Floridaland family show in front of crowded crowds of children. She had been trained by the Navy to locate mines and transport spy equipment. Compared to military missions on the open sea, the trick of the hula hoop was a bicoca that provided generous buckets of sardines. In the afternoon, Brenner paid her a visit. “When I got into the water, she approached me without fear and asked for attention. I never fed her, but as time went by, our encounters became more vigorous and intense: when she saw me, she put a belly up to touch her genital cleft.”

At first Brenner resisted. “She reacted to my refusal violently. On one occasion, she tried to masturbate with my foot, but I rejected her proposal,” he confesses to CHRONICLE. “Then she pounced on me and sank me with full weight to the bottom of the dolphinarium. I made it clear that that tactic would not work with me, so she took pains on other types of erotic tricks that ended up conquering me.” As he relates in his book, Dolly was massaging his arms and legs with her fine and pointed teeth. “It was a way of telling me: I am strong but I will not harm you.” By then Brenner had already begun to ask himself some questions. “I suspected there was something different about my sexuality. And, although I was attracted to Dolly, I yearned with all my might to be a normal person.”

That club was not made for him. His parents, devoted followers of Wilhelm Reich and his esoteric theories about orgone, put him in the hands of a psychologist who ended up abusing him. “I don’t know if a zoophile is born or made, but something had to do with the vexations I suffered in the consultation.” His first erection was provided by a dog at the age of 5. “I had gone to the cinema to see The Shaggy Dog and I shuddered to see the effect that the character of Walt Disney caused me.” The defloration came five years later, coinciding with the estrous cycle of Miss Clavel, the family poodle. “She was in heat and I assumed that she wouldn’t mind having sex with me. But I was wrong. It was an embarrassing and unromantic incident. I felt dirty.”

Splashing in the water with Dolly helped him clear his bad conscience. “Zoophilia comes from Greek and means ‘animal lover.’ I am not a goat rapist farmer, but a person capable of experiencing tender and affectionate emotions with animals.” A cloudy morning in 1970 he approached the dolphinarium with the intention of having sex with Dolly. “I tried to penetrate her, but the water was too cold and I was terrified that they could discover us at any moment.”

It took a year for them to consummate their relationship. “I made love with Dolly on my last visit to the park, when their owners decided to sell the land to build homes.”

Brenner took pains in the preliminaries for half an hour. “We practice games and try different positions until finally I managed to break through. Dolly’s vagina was like a sucking valve that caused me a sense of fusion at all levels: emotionally, mentally, physically and even spiritually. I managed to climax almost at the same time that Dolly emitted three groans in increasing cadence, which led me to think that she also reached orgasm. Then she rested her snout on my shoulder and we held each other for several minutes while staring into each other’s eyes.”

Brenner, today single and father of a daughter, fruit of his first marriage, is still excited to remember the outcome of the story. “When I learned that Dolly had died, I drove from Philadelphia to Mississippi to visit the ocean where she spent her last days,” he recalls. “Her coach told me that she had not wanted to eat and that they found her faint at the bottom of one of the tanks. He explained that the dolphin’s breathing is voluntary and that she had let herself die … I think Dolly killed herself for love.” And he says goodbye to the other side of the line: “Please do not describe me as a disturbed or a sexual depraved (person). Talk about a man who fell in love with a non-human person and who only regrets not having spent more time with her.”
