Why is it that people would rather die for an unsubstantiated belief, even an obviously bogus one, than be mildly discomforted by an absolute fact, even one that affects them directly?

They will kill other humans just like them, with the same sorrows and joys, because they are told by a “holy man” to do so, but cannot get out of their armchair to defend their Social Security, or their democratic republic, or their own personal liberty.

I don’t think this is because humans are essentially flawed, they have just been overly fucked-with by the power-mongers in our society who have NO INTEREST in making them INDEPENDENT THINKERS!

And what I am terribly afraid of is that we are facing a second Civil War, not of North vs. South, but of people of sound mind and humanist ethics against raging FASCISTS, who are living in a world of their own making that is destroying the world we have, and ending the world we want to build — a world of FREEDOM FROM WANT, JUSTICE FOR ALL, AND A FUTURE WE CAN LIVE WITH, NOT DIE FROM!

Is that too much to ask?

What scares me the most is that there is no arguing with MAGA, or with FASCISTS. There is no COMPROMISE, because there are NO “GOOD GUYS ON BOTH SIDES,” like that infantile little pus-pimple (who is tearing down great American institutions like the White House and the Voting Rights Act as fast as he can) claimed there were, after hateful Fascist man-boys marched at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017.

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO KILL THEM OR CONVERT THEM, MY FRIENDS, AND WHAT I AM AFRAID OF IS THAT THE FASCISTS THEMSELVES WILL DECIDE TO DIE FOR THEIR WARPED BELIEFS, AND BEFORE THIS IS OVER…

We will have blood running in the streets… hopefully the blood of Fascists, but some of our American blood, too, tragically. An American is NEVER a FASCIST, and a FASCIST is never an AMERICAN, regardless of citizenship!

We didn’t try to convert Hitler’s Schutzstaffel, the much-vaunted, feared SS, we killed them OUT OF NECESSITY! BEFORE THEY COULD KILL US FIRST! The Wehrmacht, the German army, we let live. The SS men were NEVER going to give up their false beliefs in the destiny of Greater Germany, to exterminate the Jews and subjugate the Slavs and Russians! We didn’t try to convert the population of Japan, under the control of insane, racist militarists who attacked the U.S.A. knowing they could win only with the greatest of luck, which deserted them at Midway, and were sharpening their bamboo spears turn the WHOLE POPULATION OF JAPAN — men, women and children — INTO A LAST-DITCH KAMIKAZE ARMY, the Operation Ketsu-Go (“decisive victory”), where they would have ALL DIED FACING ALLIED GUNS FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF THEIR GOD-DAMNED EMPEROR HIROHITO, WHO WAS JUST AS HUMAN AS YOU AND I ARE?

The question I am asking you is, “ARE YOU READY TO FIGHT, AND POSSIBLY KILL FASCISTS FOR THE BASIC SURVIVAL OF THE COUNTRY ANDS THE DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY YOU LIVE IN?”

We bombed Berlin to rubble, and the Red Army found Hitler dead of his own hand in his bunker, the stinking coward, his so-called lover Eva Braun and his faithful Alsatian dog dead beside him. We atom-bombed Japan not once, but twice, and even then, they were so fanatical a people that it took the threat of invasion by the same Red Army, who raped and murdered their way across Germany on the way to Berlin, before the Japanese surrendered. I am sure Hirohito would have cried crocodile tears for all the Japanese left only as shadows as we atom-bombed his cities at one a week, the fastest we could produce nuclear weapons then. BUT HE COULDN’T STAND TO HAVE ETHNICALLY-PURE JAPANESE BLOOD POLLUTED BY OTHER, “DEGENERATE” RACES!

WHEN WILL IT OCCUR TO YOU THAT WE WILL HAVE TO DO THE SAME THING TO THIS COUNTRY, THE THING WE SHOULD HAVE DONE AFTER THE CIVIL WAR BUT DIDN’T, PROSECUTE AND HANG THE JOHNNY-REB TRAITORS’ LEADERS, WHICH IS WHY THE GHOSTS OF SLAVERY, RACE-HATRED, SEGREGATION AND JIM CROW ARE STILL HAUNTING US, 161 YEARS LATER?
